Question

l
my cat has been nesting for last 2 days, when emptying my washing basket (where she has been sleeping) i found a kitten which has sadly died, i am startin to worry about my cat as she has had no more kitten since, and i am not too sure when she actually gave birth to this one, nor how it died? has she negelcted it? was it stillborn? i really dont know.  is this normal? she is crying alot (the sort of crying like when they are in season) more of a deep cry and she is cuddling up to our dog and being more affectionate than usual. could she have just been pregnant with one kitten? also is leaking bit of blood. help pls

Answer
Hi Laura,

You need to get your cat to a vet to be checked. The blood could be normal or not. Your vet will be able to tell for sure. Also check the area where you found the kit to make sure there are no others there.

The kit could have been stillborn. Or it could have died from lack of care by the mom. And yes, cats can have just one kit. Have her checked by your vet. This is the best thing you can do. Good luck.
