Cats/weeping kitten eyes

Question
Hello,
Two days ago i adopted a two month old kitten, I a bit worried because her eyes are weeping, at first the liquid is clear and then it dries brown. I have another 5 years old cat and i have tried to keep them seperate in case it is contagious. The kitten also snores and quite loudly at that, is it possible that the two syptoms are linked.
The kitten was taken into my parents local vet about one month ago ( he offered her to me when I went in with my parents dog) but that means she was weened or abandoned by her mother at no more than one month old, I wondered if that also could be a factor.

Thank you in advance
Amelia

Answer
Hi Amelia,

It sounds like she might have an upper respiratory infection or the beginnings of Rhinotracheitis. Here's a link that can give a little more info.

Keep your other guy separated from her until she is better. And have the vet take a look at her. I don't believe that separating her from her mother at 4 weeks had anything to do with this.
Good luck.

Ciao, Karen
