Question
QUESTION: My Pregnant Cat Is Very Very Very Close To Having Her Kittens and Is Very Energetic Is That Normal? My Mom Says She Might Have Them Any Day Now Because She Has Been Doing The Following Things:going to the Litter Box And not doing anything, laying on her side a lot, looking for affectionate,Being very uncomfortable and moving a lot, licking her private parts to much, and last of all she had a discharge yesterday. is she close to labor or far from labor? :D Thanks for your support! and also when do you think she'll Give Birth? Please tell me when YOU Think It Is Time Or How Far Alng She is Please Tell Me (:

ANSWER: Gladys,

She is very close.  It could just be a few more days or a few more hours.  There are no sure rules for when cats give birth, so just keep an eye on her and no it will be soon.

Do you have everything ready for when she does give birth?  Have you spoken to your vet, so the vet knows she will be delivering shortly? Have you made arrangements for after hours appointments in case she has trouble?  Do you have plenty of paper towels? isopropyl alcohol for sterilizing scissors, in case you have to cut umbilical cords? A face cloth for rubbing the kittens' little faces, in case mama does not do it #so you can get the kittens breathing started#?

Best regards... Norm.

QUESTION: well no but i did talk to the vet :D :)

ANSWER: Gladys,

Speaking to the vet is major, but the other supplies should be on hand, just in case you need them.

Please let me know how she does.

QUESTION: she hasn't given birth, she attacks other cats why is that?
and how close is she to labor?

Answer
Gladys,

Remember, I said she should be away from other pets!!!!!!!!!  Now you know one reason why.  Also, if she is not comfortable in her surroundings or others are bothering, she will delay the whole birthing thing as long as she can.

When you talked to the vet did he suggest you bring her in for a prenatal checkup?  At this point I cannot tell you exactly when she is due except, from what you have told me, it should be within hours or days.

Best regards... Norm.
