Question
Took in a stray cat, had her spayed 10 days ago. She seemed ill from then on. Took her to vet on day 5 after surgery, they gave her pain shot and pain meds. She had a good day after that but on day 7 after surgery she again was vomiting, became dehydtated and vet gave her iv fluid and did blood work . All came back ok. Now day 10 after surgery and she again is vomiting and limp. Keep forcing water with dropper but she will not eat at all. Called vet but no response yet from him. Can you suggest anything we can do?

Answer
Marilyn,

Remember, I am not a vet, but from what little I know it sounds as if she has an infection from the surgery or may be allergic to the stitches or may be even some abreaction to the anaesthetic.  The vet who did the surgery really should be the one responsible for finding out what is going on as it sure seems to be on the heels of the surgery.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help. Please let me know what you find out.

Concerned regards... Norm.
