Question
my female cat is 4 months old.My male cat is 2 months .Can he get my female cat pregnant.please answer as soon a possible.

Answer
Hi Abby,

Not yet. In about two months, you will need to begin to worry. Males mature younger than females, and some males are mature around four months. Most are mature by 6 months. Females mature a little more slowly and are mature around 6-9 months of age. Rarely, they are mature sooner. You should have your male neutered when he is four months old to be sure he does not impregnate your female. I recommend that females be spayed when they are six months. Although both males and females CAN be neutered as young as 8 weeks old, this is typically unnecessary, so we try to give them the benefit of some weight gain and immune system development before they undergo these procedures. And the surgery for females is a little more involved than the surgery for males. This is why I suggest waiting a little longer for females.

Good luck!
