Cats/Cat is walking oddly

Question
This morning when I was getting ready for school I noticed that my cat was walking funny. She keeps tripping over her back legs like something is wrong with them, but she isn't limping. Yesterday she was just fine. When she is sitting she sways back and forth. It's like she is drunk or something. She just had kittens a couple of weeks ago so she is still nursing. She's hasn't eaten much in the past week but that is because I don't have any food. I'll be getting food today since I have money. Could she just be out of energy?

Answer
Kira,

It is absolutely vital that a nursing queen get plenty to eat while she is nursing her kittens.  Her symptoms can be due to lack of food.  Even worse is that she is probably lacking calcium and is dehydrated.  If you can see your way to a vet visit, I would have her checked over to make sure she is able to ocntinue nursung the kittens.

If the kittens are over 3 1/2 weeks of age, you may see if they can be weaned and take a lot of stress off mama!!!!!!!!!

Once the kittens are weaned, you should probably have her spayed.

Concerned regards... Norm.
