QUESTION: i have two kittens. from today they are having fleas . the kittens are just they are just three weeks ...... can i give them a normal bath.. they are given birth by a roadside cat. the mother is dead so we only provide them milk. i am from india . can i use johnson and johnson baby shampoo? please reply me as soon as possible..

ANSWER: Hi Reena,

You can give them a bath. Use a dish soap though. I recommend Dawn dish washing soap. It is the flea killer of choice. Here is a link that explains what to do.

And I am attaching my recipe for something called Kitty Glop. You can feed them this. Works great to build big, strong kittens.

KITTY GLOP

INGREDIENTS:
1 can goat milk or evaporated milk(not sweetened condensed).
2 tbsp. plain yogurt (not low or non fat) Plain Greek type Yogurt is best.
2 tbsp. mayonnaise (real not light or No-Fat)
1 tbs. Karo Syrup (light)
1 pkg. Knox unflavored gelatin
1 egg yolk (beaten)
1 cup Pedialyte (unflavored)
1- 2 jars Stage One Baby food (chicken or turkey)
1 can Kitten food, same flavor as baby food

INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix milk, yogurt, mayonnaise, baby food, kitten food and syrup together well. Bring 1 cup pedialyte to boil and mix in Knox gelatin. Set aside. Mix egg yolk with small amount of milk mixture and beat well.

Add gelatin and pedialyte mix to milk mixture and beat well. Add in egg yolk mixture and beat well. Remember to not use egg substitute and keep egg white to a minimum.

Pour into bowl (with cover) and set in refrigerator. Glop will last for two weeks covered in refrigerator. Try freezing the mixture in ice cube trays and store the cubes in the freezer. Thaw as many as needed.
Always warm glop to room temperature ,(milk form), or a little warmer, before feeding.

QUESTION: is the dawn dish washing soap available in all vet shops in chennai. the kitty glop recipe is little a big process and my mom wont let me buy all these things can you just give a small recipe that all the things are little cheaper and available in vet shops... tell me whether i can give them the packet milks which are boiled... and more over they are not well breeded cats they are roadside cats.. and thanks for your before message...

Hi Reena,

You can try using whatever brand of liquid dish washing soap that is available to you. For the Kitty Glop you can use the packet milk. Use the canned kitten food, any type of unflavored gelatin, yogurt, and egg yolk. And use golden syrup instead of the Karo syrup. This will give you something that they will love and grow big on.
