Cats/Cat death

Question
hello, today my persian cat died. She was around 8-9 years old. It started with my dad taking her to a cat groomer every month or so, and my cat absoluetely hated it, she would cry and cry and be in a right state when she got back home, however this time it was different. I wasnt there to witness this but the cat groomer told us when we got there. Apparently as soon as my cat got to the cat groomers before the groomer even touched her, the cat was panting, meowing and having trouble breathing, she then had a fit, and died very much instantly. Was this because of stress and shock? We are burying the cat tomorrow as today we didnt have the equipment, and i looked over the cat and there is some red/brownish liquid coming from her nose, what is this? Very grateful if you reply soon !! x

Answer
Bethan,

I am sorry for your loss!!!!!!!!!!

Remember, I am not a vet, but it sure sounds like a cardio-vascular issue (either heart or throwing a clot).  Only a vet could tell you upon a necropsy. I cannot tell you what the red/brownish liquid may be.

I think your Persian would have been gone shortly, regardless. I do not believe the visit to the groomer made any real difference.

Sad regards... Norm.
