Question
Our Tuxedo cat attacks my older son, my younger son, my female Tortie cat and sometimes my middle son. He Pees on their clothes on purpose. My oldest and youngest sons are terrifed of him. So is my Tortie cat. He does not not bite me or my fiance or even attack us. I had him since he was about10 or 11 weeks old. My stepson found him in the street. He dropped him at my house and never finacially got on his feet to provide for the cat.I make sure he has his indoor & outdoor shots because; He escapes out the front door when the kids open it to go in or out. He come back home within a few hours. I make sure my cats have Revoluton flea medicine when I can afford it. When I can not I buy the Advantage flea medicine.I have tryed to find an adult who does not have kids or grandkids around to take him. But I've been unsuccessful with that. I have had to take my children to the E.R. due to his bites. I called Humane society . They said they are full can the earliest they can take him is 9/10/2011. I do not want my children to live in fear of this cat. I have called the vet. They just said he just do not like the kids; cause you know kids can do mean things to them, and Cats remember. I do not want to take him to a Animal Shelter for fear of him being put down. He does not like to be pet.  He only likes me to hold him and pet him. My female cat does not act like that. She is declawed and fixed too.I have had her since she was 1 or 2 weeks old. She was found by my Neighbor. Any help or sugestions will be greatly appreciation.

Answer
Jim,

Is this cat neutered?  If not, that is the first order of business.

How old is he?

I would have a vet check him over for things like a urinary tract problem. It is also possible that he does have a medical issue and when someone tries to pick him up or pet him, it hurts.  Also, you may want to have his thyroid levels checked.

What you do not want to do is to move your problem kitty to someone else.

Please let me know what you find out from the vet.

Best regards... Norm.
