"is the dawn dish washing soap available in all vet shops in chennai. the kitty glop recipe is little a big process and my mom wont let me buy all these things can you just give a small recipe that all the things are little cheaper and available in vet shops... tell me whether i can give them the packet milks which are boiled... and more over they are not well breeded cats they are roadside cats.. and thanks for your before message..."

Answer
Reena.

I would not use Dawn Dishwashing Detergent on cats.  It is very hard to rinse out even if diluted, say, 8 parts water to 1 part Dawn.  We use any of a variety of human "clarifying" shampoos. Anything made by Suave or Pantene is OK. I do not know about the availability where you live, but they are available via the Internet.

As to kitten formulas, how old are the kittens?  If the kittens are older than 4 weeks, they really do not need any milk at all. I would avoid using cow's milk.  Goat's milk mixed with something like unflavored yogurt diluted to a consistency the kittens can handle should get them young kittens through. I am not familiar with boiled milk packets.  Are these the same as "evaporated" milk?

If the kittens are older than 4 weeks, they can be weaned on any good brand of wet cat food.  By 6 weeks of age, they can also handle dry food.

Best regards... Norm.
