Cats/Aortic aneurysm

Question
We have a kitten we are fostering that just got spay at about 10 weeks old.  They found she has an aortic aneurysm.  This means she will not be put up for adoption because of this birth defect.  It would be tough to find a good family for her.  We have been asked to keep her but I am not sure what this means in a cat.  What is her prognosis?

Answer
Jennifer,

Have you spoken to a veterinary cardiologist?  That would be my first order of business. I am not a vet and have had no experiences with cardio vascular problems in any of my own cats. I really wish I could help, but you need veterinary cadio vascular expertise on this one. Once you have seen such a specialist, you can make an informed decision.  Also, it would behoove you to establish a relationship with such a specialist with regard to this kitty!!!!!

If you do get an answer, I would appreciate it if you could forward it to me.  BTW, I did do a Google search on feline aortic aneurysm, but it really had little of use I could see.

I am sorry I could not be of more help.

Best regards... Norm
