Question
ok my cat civa does some pretty weird stuff. She is a little over a year old. When she was a young kitten she would sleep with me every night. Then for the longest time she stopped and slept in a different room. Now she is back to sleeping with me and is wicked clingy. Is this normal for a cat that is still growing up?? Also I have no idea what kind of cat she is. She is done growing and is about 7 inches tall at the shoulder. She is solid black with a tiny penny-sized white spot under her chin. Do you have a general idea of what she could be??

Answer
Ashley,

Has Civa been spayed?  If not, and she is over 5 months of age, she may be exhibiting behaviors consistent with coming into season.

Assuming she has short hair, she is a black domestic shorthair with a "locket".

If she is spayed, you will have to explain what you mean by "wicked clingy". Cats do, often, look at us as surrogate parents and can be extremely affectionate, when they want to.

Best regards... Norm.
