Question
I have a 9 yr old tabby, who crys all the time, morning afternoon alone, or with me.  This started shortly after my other cat past away fairly sudden. Could it be that he is lonely, since we had not planned on getting anoth er animal.

Answer
Hi Judy,

I am sorry to hear about your recent loss.

Your cat is definitely missing your other cat. Cats can be very atatched to other animal companions and just like us miss them and sometimes fall into depression when they lose a loved one.

In time, your cat will likely recover but it's a good idea to give her extra love and attention during this time even if she doesn't seem to want it. You can also give her some Bach flower essense - Honeysuckle - a herbal remedy sold at many health food stores, a few dilted drops on her food may help reduce her grief and sadness.

Quiet soothing classcal music also helps reduce stress in most animals, so try playing the radio softly.
