Question
We are moving to a home w/o a basement to keep the cat box.  I am trying to get a good opinion on where to put the cat box in the new home, preferably not on a carpeted surface?

Answer
Hello Jame,
Usually a good cat box location is in the bathroom. There are litter boxes shaped for corners that make it easier to 'tuck away' the litterbox.  If you must go with a carpeted area, just get a piece of linolium or like product to put underneath the box.  You can also use a scatter rug to set it on, and just shake it out when excess litter collects.  If you use a covered litter box, it will cut down substantially with litter that is kicked around and out of the box.  I keep a small dustpan/sweep brush on top of the litterbox for quick clean ups.  Hope this has been helpful.
Thanx for your inquiry,
