Question
Recently, yesterday my 14 year old male short haired cat seemed to be walking drunk and stumbled and fell over occassionally on his left side. He never fell to the right side. About a month ago, he did get out and appeared to have gotten into a fight, as a bite mark was on his back, but he recovered and it healed. He is still eating and drinking and using the litter box. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow...but I am curious if there is anything I can do immediately to watch over him or help him. I have made him a bed on the floor to keep him from falling and hurting himself.

I'm sorry I was unable to get back to you until now. I had a mini family crisis.
You did the right thing there. About the only thing you could have done different was to keep him confined to like the bathroom. I'm glad you were taking him to the vet right away. There are a lot of different things that can cause that type of behavior. Good luck and let me know what the vet found.

| Comment | Karen, sorry to hear about your crisis, hopefully all went well. Sneezy Boo isnt doing worse, but not better either. The vet said it could be an ear infection or a tumor. So waiting to see when his ear clears up if he quits falling to his left side. He did have a mild infection in the ear..so I am hoping this is all it is. Thanks again for the comforting. | ||
