Question
ok this strange behavior started about a week ago.....first off my baby got her name because she is a sweet as honey and so very lovable thats all she wants is love...except lately. she has become very tempermentle...but i guess we are all entitled to have our days. well today when i came home for work she greeted me as usual then i went down stairs (honey will NOT leave the bedroom by choice, the door is always open the furthest shes gone is the bathroom(human) which is right next door to my bedroom) and when i returned there was no greeting but i figured she was curled up in her lil tent she has. i was on the computer when i heard this hiss n growl i looked around the room and didnt see her and my other cat(tater) was sleeping on the bed. after the second growl tater jumped off the bed and ran behind the recliner and i then heard an even louder growl and that was when i got up and moved the recliner and found her laying under. i went to pick her up and she let out a lil growl and yet i still picked her up b/c she had a glazed look in her eyes. when doing so i felt how solid she was. she let me pick her and cradle her and calm her down so i didn't think anything of it. i was sitting on the floor legs crossed with her sitting in the middle her head resting in my hand. so i thought you know ok shes ok but when i got close to her stomach she would let out a low growl. which is very odd b/c both of my babys love their tummys rubbed. so i htought maybe shes sick and i started to get a lil upset naturally. i checked her ears inside andut and felt the temp and they were normal. she took a treat from me so i kenw she wasn't sick. but she is staring at the same part of my room eyes wide and here and there she'll let out a growl more so when tater goes near her. tater is 1 yr younger and very protective of honey. i find this  very very odd. honey has never acted liek this and she will not let tater close to her. they always sleep together and play together, they are good together....please if anyoe has any ideas or reasons on y my baby has suddenly changed??? oh honey is 2 and tater is 1...

Answer
Hi Sarah,

Any abnormal change in behavior is a signal that something is wrong with your baby. You need to take her to the vet to get her checked out. She may eat a snack for you but that doesn't mean she is well. If she checks out okay health wise then we can look at other reasons for her behavior.

Please write back after you return from the vet. Let me know how she is. Good luck.

Ciao, Karen
