Question
My neighbor is medicating his cat with human amoxicillian. I freaked when I saw the label.  He said he got it from a vet. I disagreed with his actions and don't believe him.  Please set the record straight for the both of us.

Answer
Debbie,

There is no such things as "human" or "cat" amoxicillin, they are exactly thr same. Many vets do not have an in-house pharmacy and they write prescriptions to be filled at a drug store just like for people. So chances are your neighbour is telling you the truth. Are you concerned for the cat's welfarefor some other reason?

Please do NOT ask me if you should take your cat to the vet - if you have any reason to suspect your cat is ill or injured please call your vet immediately!
