Question
I read that you gave your cat glucosamine for pain, did it work ? How much did you give? I have a cat I've had since she was 6 wks old and she is now 19 yrs old and hardly getting around. Any info would be helpful. Thank You

Answer
Hi Charlotte,
You are mistaken, I have never given any of my pets glucosamine.  You need to be very careful prescribing drugs for you cat.  Be sure not to give aspirin, as it can be fatal.  You really need to take your cat to a Veterinarian if she is in that much pain.  I am very impressed that she is 19 years old!  That shows that you have taken good care of her.  I wish I could help you, but I am not a Vet and would be very leery of telling you to give her anything.  At her age, it is best to consult a professional.

God Bless ,

Expertise

I am not a breeder,so please direct any breeding and/or birthing questions to an "expert" that is. I love all cats but my favorites are the Rex and Siamese. I used to show Cornish Rex as a hobby but have not been able to for a few years. Right now I have three Siamese and one Cornish Rex. As a former veterinarian assistant, I can help you with general healthcare issues. Being a cat owner for years, I will be glad to answer any behaviour and/or nutrition questions too. Please remember, I am NOT a Veterinarian, so if your kitty is seriously ill, please do not hesitate to contact a Vet.
