Cats/aggressive male orange tabby

Question
my neutered male orange tabby is five years old. Because of his aggressive behavior I had him declawed and his teeth filed down. He is not aggressive with our dogs or us even though he is not very friendly, but defends his outside terrritory by attacking all the neighberhood sweet cats. Just today he was involved in three fights of which I am aware.  Three years ago when we moved into the neighborhood he sent a cat to the emergency room. And now that he is defensless ha ha, I am afraid that he will get hurt. I would consider keeping him inside all the time but he escapes.

Thank you for any suggestion. I could give him away but I am afraid that he would attack other cats...

Answer
Hi Page,

You have taken away everything that can save him from being hurt. So far he has been lucky. Eventually he will run into a bigger and younger cat that will really hurt him. You need to keep him inside. He is getting old and won't be able to take care of himself outside soon. If he wants out build him a pen outside. This will take care of his need to go out and to keep him safe. Read this article in this link.

This will help you decide what to do. Good luck.
