Cats/cat has blacks specks on under chin

Question
a couple of days ago when I was brushing my cat i noticed little black specks that came off when i brushed the area slighly under his chin.(They are only there in one patchy line) today he has many more--they are not fleas-they do not move--just black specks-some are slightly bigger than others. I took a wet paper towel and washed the area today and many of the specks came off on the towel but the number of black specks seem to be increasing everyday. I have treated him this month for fleas-he hasn't had them and I haven't seen to this day on him-he's an indoor cat. He has ear mites and he has been treated for them. I am very worried.

Answer
Hi Patti,

I forgot to add one other thing. He could just have cat acne. Have your vet check him out. If it is that then a course of antibiotics will clear it up. Also you can try treating it your self by cleansing his chin with a benzoyl peroxide shampoo a couple of times a week.  Good luck.
