Question
hi, becky.  thanks for your time.

i have two domestic short hair cats.  weezer is 12 years old and ramona is 6.
i would like to start feeding weezer aging cat food but i don't know how to do
that with ramona around.  the dynamic between them is something like this:
they like each other okay, but weezer likes to remind ramona that she is
dominant, especially when it comes to food.  when i feed the cats in the
morning, weezer is there first, ramona hangs back and waits until weezer is
finished.  then ramona waits awhile just in case she thinks weezer will be
back.  then she eats.  i've tried two bowls, but ramona still waits, and weezer
eats out of both bowls.  i wonder if you think it would be okay for ramona to
just go ahead and eat the aging cat food even though she's so much younger.
thanks for your help.  and if you need more information before you can
answer, feel free to write me asking for more.  thanks.  elle

Answer
Hi Elle!

I don't see anything wrong with feeding both cats the food for aging cats.  If one was a kitten, I wouldn't say that, but I think the ages are appropriate.  I really don't see how you can do it otherwise!  LOL

Good luck and God Bless!!

I am not a breeder,so please direct any breeding and/or birthing questions to an "expert" that is. I love all cats but my favorites are the Rex and Siamese. I used to show Cornish Rex as a hobby but have not been able to for a few years. Right now I have three Siamese and one Cornish Rex. As a former veterinarian assistant, I can help you with general healthcare issues. Being a cat owner for years, I will be glad to answer any behaviour and/or nutrition questions too. Please remember, I am NOT a Veterinarian, so if your kitty is seriously ill, please do not hesitate to contact a Vet.
