AnswerHi Lisa,
I like to use the clumping litter because the urine will clump and is easy to scoop out. I scoop the clumped urine and feces out of my litter box at least twice a day. I don't want my house to smell either, as I have three cats. This seems to work good. Another thing that may help you is get a bigger litter box. I don't like the ones they sell commercially. Walmart sells a great plastic bin, that people use to store stuff in, I guess, but it's tall and big. It's good because the cats can scratch and the litter doesn't fly out. I also put more litter in it, and that helps control the odor too. When you use a small box with a minimum amount of litter, then the odor is going to be stronger. You can also sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of the litter box to help absorb the odor.
If you keep the box scooped out, then you should be ok. As I said, I really like the clumping litter because the urine clumps and is easy to remove.
God Bless,
Becky
