Question
ok heres the situation i have 2 young female cats one i recieved as a gift and one i adopted from work the one i recieved as a gift just went through her first heat and the 2nd one is just now in heat when can i have them both spayed?

Answer
Hi Sherry!
You can actually take them anytime.  It may cost a little more if they're in heat though. Cats are not like dogs. Dogs have a schedule and usually come into heat every six months like clockwork. Cats come and go anytime!  If you wait for the one to come out of heat, the other may be going in.  If I were you, I'd take them both in and get it done!

Expertise

I am not a breeder,so please direct any breeding and/or birthing questions to an "expert" that is. I love all cats but my favorites are the Rex and Siamese. I used to show Cornish Rex as a hobby but have not been able to for a few years. Right now I have three Siamese and one Cornish Rex. As a former veterinarian assistant, I can help you with general healthcare issues. Being a cat owner for years, I will be glad to answer any behaviour and/or nutrition questions too. Please remember, I am NOT a Veterinarian, so if your kitty is seriously ill, please do not hesitate to contact a Vet.
