Cats/cat throwing up

Question
I think my cat has been in heat and may have gotten pregnant.  She has been throwing up and I don't know if that means she is pregnant.

Answer
HI Monica,

Cats don't generally vomit due to pregnancy. If she has thrown up a few ties she probably ate something she should not have - I assume she goes outdoors since you say she "may" have gotten pregnant so she could have eaten rat poison, spoiled food or anything. If the vomiting continues and she can't keep down water, take her to the vet. Also check her for dehydration by pinching a fold of skin by her scruff and count the seconds it takes to return to position - if more than a few seconds she is dehydrated.

Also, please get her spayed immediately - don't wait to find out if she "may" be pregnant.
