Cats/cats meowing at night

Question
I got two kittens a couple months ago; they are sisters. (They are
now 4 months old.) I don't like to let them in my room at night
to sleep because while they might sleep for a while, they
inevitably wake me up early in the morning by playing. So they
tend to hang around outside my door, and meow both when I go
to bed and then again when they hear noise in the morning
(sometimes I do meditation in the morning and don't want to be
disturbed yet). Sometimes they wake me up hours ahead of time.
I've tried spray bottles, compressed air, dumping water on their
heads... it all works temporarily but unlike some of their other
behaviors, it doesn't stop. I wouldn't mind them sleeping with
me when they're older and won't wake me up playing... but what
do I do now?
Thanks a bunch... Laura

Answer
Hey Laura!

Good luck on this one!  I have a Siamese kitten and he starts yelling for me to get up about 30 min before I'm ready to.  If it were me, I'd let them in. They are NOT going to stop, I promise you.  If you let them in, at least they won't be meowing and crying.  But I know what you mean about the playing, as my kitten loves to attack my feet!  If you figure out how to stop it, let ME know!

God bless,
Becky

I am not a breeder,so please direct any breeding and/or birthing questions to an "expert" that is. I love all cats but my favorites are the Rex and Siamese. I used to show Cornish Rex as a hobby but have not been able to for a few years. Right now I have three Siamese and one Cornish Rex. As a former veterinarian assistant, I can help you with general healthcare issues. Being a cat owner for years, I will be glad to answer any behaviour and/or nutrition questions too. Please remember, I am NOT a Veterinarian, so if your kitty is seriously ill, please do not hesitate to contact a Vet.
