Question
Hi Becky,
I was hoping you could shed some light as to why one of my cats gets sick after she eats. She probably gets sick 3-5 times a week , there seems to be no ryhme or reason for this i feed my other cat the same food & she doesn't get sick, i've already talked to my vet regarding this she explained that it was normal and not to worry. I had a cat several years ago that did the same thing. I haven't been changing brands of cat food , she gets sick with both wet & dry food. I thought it was possibly from hair balls ( I have tried ALL different types of hairball remedy meds she won't take any of it) It almost appears as if she doesn't chew the food most of it comes up mushy but still whole. I was just wondering if you had any insight as to what may be causing this.
thanks

Answer
Hi Kerry,

I have two cats that do the same thing!  It's just ever now and then. I think most cats do this. I'm not positive, but I do think it has something to do with hairballs, and even overeating.  Try this remedy for hairballs, it really works!  Rub some butter or margerine on the paws of your cat. She will automatically lick it off, and she will probably love the flavor. It will help her to get rid of hairballs.  I think also, as I said, that overeating plays a part in the vomiting.  I have one cat who is a real glutton and I think she is just plain full and some of it comes up!  Anyway, rest assured, this is a common trait and most cat owners can "feel your pain" so to speak.

God Bless
Becky

I am not a breeder,so please direct any breeding and/or birthing questions to an "expert" that is. I love all cats but my favorites are the Rex and Siamese. I used to show Cornish Rex as a hobby but have not been able to for a few years. Right now I have three Siamese and one Cornish Rex. As a former veterinarian assistant, I can help you with general healthcare issues. Being a cat owner for years, I will be glad to answer any behaviour and/or nutrition questions too. Please remember, I am NOT a Veterinarian, so if your kitty is seriously ill, please do not hesitate to contact a Vet.
