Question
my cat has lost alot of weight since having kittens 7 wks ago.Shes even smaller then before giving birth you can even feel her spine when you pet het is this normal.

Answer
HI Mary,

Lactating takes a lot out of the mother and it's not uncommong for mother cats to lose weight if they are not fed plenty of high quality food. Make sure she is given all the good *canned* food she wants - I recommend Nature's Variety, Wellness or Natural Balance. Also offer her a bit of goat's milk to drink (it is easier to digest than cow's milk).

I don't know how much weight she has lost, but you should also have a stool sample checked at the vet to make sure she doesn't have internal parasites.
