Question
I have a 4 year old cat that has been recently fixed and have now let her outside she is eating a lot more dryfood than before and gaining weight fast how much dry food should i feed her she wont eat wet food ty El?

Answer
Hello El,
It depends on what kind of diet you are feeding your cat.  There are low calorie foods available in dry kibble.  If you are feeding a regular, maintenance type food, then 2/3 cup a day is good for a cat of 10 lbs.  Adjust the amount by a third for each additional 5 lbs, or adjust less by 1/3 cup for each 5 lbs under.  There should also be feeding instructions with the food you are currently feeding.  Check the bag and make some adjustments by lowering the suggested amount to feed.  She may also have access to other food while she is outside, which also may be contributing to her weight gain.
Hope this has been helpful to you, and best of luck to you both.
