Question I have a mother cat that i have just gotten rid of her kittens they where 9 weeks old. Now 2 days after the kittens have been gone she has filled up with milk or infection not sure. She is hard as a rock and they are warm to touch. She looks like if teets swell anymore they could rupture what can i do to help her. She was not really feeding the kittens anymore. Could it be milk or something else. Please help me if u can.
Answer It sounds like a mammary infection, which is very painful and will kill her if left untreated. Please take her to the vet right away and while she is there, get her spayed. I hope the kittens were placed in good homes, it saddens me to hear peopel say they "got rid of" kittens.
