Question
We have 2 cats in our home already and now the boys want a kitten!! I love cats and wouldn't mind so much...but will my house smell with 3?
Will I need a litter box for each and different food bowls for each?  I am sure there are many families with more than 2, I just don't want to get the kitten and discover its not going to work.

Answer
If you get a kitten, the other two cats may be mad. You may want to talk to your vet about the baby powder(cat safe baby powder) trick to make the cats like this new cat. It takes time to make them like eachother. Some vets do not push this idea. Now, as for how your house will smell? Depends on the size and the cats. Different food bowls? Different age cats eat different foods, so probably yes.

I've had three cats before at once, and my house did not smell, yet those were outdoor cats. However, I push indoor cats, for I lost many cats outdoors.

Litter boxes need to be cleaned often. It's hard work having three cats. But, I enjoyed having three before.

I recommend asking another expert also to see what they say.

Good luck and ask follow ups
