hi?i have 2 cats a male and female >the male we just got we found him or he found us 4 days ago but im not sure if hes fixed or not do male cats spray and if so i would i now?
-----Answer-----
Hi Michelle,
YES, male cats do spray. They do this to "mark" their territory. If he is neutered, the chances are less, but that does not mean that he won't.  Look at his genital area, if you see balls, then he is not neutered. They will be prominent, or you can feel them. If he has been neutered, you may see a sack, but should be flat.  If he is not neutered, I strongly urge you to do so. He will be a much better pet, not wandering off in search of females and not getting into fights over females.

Answer
Hello again!
Since he has had the taste of being outdoors, he will probably want to go out, and will whine at the door until you let him out or he will dash out when someone comes in or out.  Maybe not.... but most cats that get a taste of the "great outdoors" want to go out again!  I would be sure and neuter him though, if you are going to keep him in at all.... believe me, you DON'T want him to spray in the house. It is much stronger than urine and very hard to get rid of the odor.  You might check with the local animal shelter.  Our shelter will neuter or spay your pet free if your income is under a certain level. I'm not saying yours is by any means, but it's worth looking into.

God Bless,
Becky

Expertise

I am not a breeder,so please direct any breeding and/or birthing questions to an "expert" that is. I love all cats but my favorites are the Rex and Siamese. I used to show Cornish Rex as a hobby but have not been able to for a few years. Right now I have three Siamese and one Cornish Rex. As a former veterinarian assistant, I can help you with general healthcare issues. Being a cat owner for years, I will be glad to answer any behaviour and/or nutrition questions too. Please remember, I am NOT a Veterinarian, so if your kitty is seriously ill, please do not hesitate to contact a Vet.
