Cats/paw in drinking water and then in litter box!

Question
Hi Tomay,

My cat sticks his paw in the drinking water and then uses the litter box with a wet paw, tracking the clay-like substance around the house, on the bed and furniture. I have tried tall thin cups and tall pitchers as water bowls hoping he won't be able to get his paw in, but he either finds a way or knocks them over. I have even switched to different types of litter with no luck. Are there any specially designed bowls out there to prevent this?
Thanks!
Melissa

Answer
Hello Melissa,
What an unusual habit your cat has!  And also annoying, as I can imagine.  I am not aware of any specially designed drinking bowls out there.  Perhaps you could design somekind of base, secured onto the floor with the tall cup fitted into it.  Maybe a rubber type base to keep everything stable.  I hope you asked this questions of the other cat people on this site!  This is a unique situation you have!
Sorry  I could not be of more help to you.  Thank you for your inquiry and your intrest in this site.
Best of luck,
Tomay
