Question
Hi Tina, How are you?
I have a 10 month old Persian hairy cat.
her hair is badly tangled (? by chewing gum)i tried to apply some oils and creams, but it was useless. I can't cut the tangled bulk because its very close to her skin.
I don't know what to do , can you help me with your advice ?

Answer
Hi Faiza,

Persian hair is very prone to tangles and matts, and it is unlikely that you can remove them now. I would take your cat to the vet clinic and ask them to shave her, let new hair grow in and keep her well groomed from then on. The vet will have clippers that can safely shave her.

Did your kitty get outside and into something? The stuff in her fur could also be toxic - oil or something - so you don't want her licking her coat. Time for a shave!
