Cats/remove cat smell

Question
ok, I live across the street from an Elem. school. I went out the other morning and found a cat (from the neighborhood)(unknown owner) had JUST been hit & killed by a car, in front of my home. I put the un-neutered male cat in a box and in my minivan and took him to our police dept. Animal Control took him to "hold" pending owner inquiry. my problem is that HE 'sprayed' and 'whatever' in the box in my van, and it stinks BAD! How do I get the smell out? I had heard when you die you 'let go of bodily functions', I never knew animals did too!
I hope you can help. And since I don't have a garage I can't leave it "open" at night to air it out. We have lots of critters around! Thanks.

Answer
Hi Caj,

It was good of you to take care fo this poor victim of tragedy. Perhaps he had an owner who can at leats find out what happened to their pet. OR if he had none, you still did the right thing because maybe he could have been saved. All animals - humans included - let go of the bodily functions when they die and the muscles loose tone.

I have had great success using Nature's Miracle to remove cat urine and feces. It's sold in most pet stores. It's an enzyme cleaner that breaks down organiz watse at the moecular level so it doesn't just cover up the smell. Follow the directions on the bottle and you should be on your way back to a clean smelling car. Also the area has to be soaked with the product and the smell will not be all gone until it is dry.
