QuestionI want some deep information. If you don't know anything about siamese please just say, you can't help, what I am asking would take someone who knew almost everything about siamese. Now my wife has searched a lot of the internet, she has gone everything and done everything she can think of, it will take a lot of online digging to get this type of online information, that is why I am relying on the experts here is what I need below, do what you can and please email me back, any such information would do.
The thing I need to know about is siamese, here is what I need below.
I need information on ALL of the colors, they are called points, and maybe other things, I know of seal, lilac, cinnamin, Red Tail, points, and possibly a lot of others. I need sites where I can see pictures of the different types of points, and information on every type of point siamese cat available. I am only looking for information related directly to the Traditional Siamese, none of the other types, Just TRADITIONAL SIAMESE. Any type of coloring name, or point name, or anything. The best information you could offer would be some type of extensive site that would show something like all of the points and/or colors contrasted, and what they look like side by side, if you cannot find anything helpful online, or can't get a sight, or have them of your own, you can email them to me in an attachment at warrior332211@hotmail.com IF you are going to send this email saying it is beyond your expertise, that is fine, if you are going to be able to find the information then thank you for you time and research you have helped a lot.
AnswerHello West.....
Having shown cats, and Siamese being my favorite along with the Cornish Rex, I think I can help you a little bit.
There are four colors in the Siamese breed recognized by CFA. These are : sealpoint, chocolate point, blue point and lilac point. The "points" are the face, ears, feet and tail. The body is a cream color and the "points" are the specific colors I mentioned. The sealpoint will tend to be darker all over with age, but the other colors tend to keep a cream colored body.
Now........your more exotic colors are represented by the breed called Colorpoint Shorthair (CFA). This breed looks and acts exactly like a Siamese, except that the colors are very different. Here you will find the Red Point,Cream Point,Tortie Point, Blue-Cream Point, and a variety of solid colors...black, chocololate, blue, lilac, white, red, tortoiseshell etc.. almost any solid color is accepted in the Colorpoint Shorthair. I have personally owned Colorpoints and love them as they have the same personality as the Siamese, are shaped like a Siamese and come with all the "bonus" colors.
As far as websites go, I really can't point you to any specific site, but if you go to the "google" search engine and type in Siamese or Colorpoint Shorthair, I think it will take you to plenty of sites. Also, you may want to check out the CFA( Cat Fancier Association) website to see what is expected of these breeds.
Hope this helped!
God Bless,
Becky
