Question
hi my cat has been in this condition for about two months. he is fifteen, so hes really old. his problem is that he is constantly getting skinnier every day. he hardly ever eats, and what he does eat he throws it up in a few minutes. his attidue is fine but his body is not. he never used to like people to touch him but lately he is giving us a lot of attention. please help if there is anything that our family can do to help our pet, we'll do it!

Answer
HI brittany,

Have you taken your cat to see the vet? There are many things that could be the problem, from kidney disease to hyperthyroidism to irritable bowel syndrome. Don't wait another day if it is one of these things every day counts. Kidney disease can be managed with a diet change and fluids for example. The vet will have to examine your cat and take blood for tests. Cats over 10 years old should have blood tests done twice a year - or at the very least once a year. Catch problems early and they are easier to treat! Please make an appointment immediately.
