Hello, I am thinknig about getting a kitten either pure or mixed breed it really doesnt matter is he will be a pet only, I was wondering thou what are cats like? do they enjoy being held/petted? are they friendly? will they come over to you to be pet? do they follow you around for treats... anything like that? are they anything like dogs?

If you have never owned a cat.....let me re-phrase that,  if a cat has never owned YOU, then you are in for a treat.  Cats are wonderful pets,  and yes they love to be held, petted, loved on and groomed......when THEY feel like it!   If you are getting a kitten, you will probably have no problem with getting it used to all of these things.  My cats love to be held and loved on, but when they are done, they want down.   They will come when their name is called, and they love to eat.  Try to get a cat tree for them to scratch on, some cat toys, a litter box (be sure to keep clean)  and feed a good kitten food.

I hope you will consider adopting a kitten or cat from your local animal shelter. These felines need good homes!
