hi could my dogs be pregnant I had them with a male for over a week when they were about 8th days in heat one of them looks a lot bigger and her nipples are getting bigger we brought them to our local vet and she says she doughts they are pregnant and could she be wrong as she didnt do a scan i have to bring them some were else for that she checked there belly but ive heard that some king charles carry there puppies up in there rib cage .I recon they would be about six weeks if they were

Hello Susan,
Sorry for the late answer, I am sure by now you know whether your bitch is pregnant or not. Cavaliers tend to have false pregnancy very often. One of my bitches gained 5lbs, had milk and was showing signs of beginning labor.
My vet said that bitches are prone to false pregnancy because they menstruate and ovulate all in the same period of time, unlike humans who have a cycle of menstruation then about 2 weeks later ovulation.
