Cayman Islands/Graduation - want to live in GC for summer

Question
Hi, we recently visited Grand Cayman and stayed in Cayman Kai for a week.  My boyfriend and I loved it and want to move there after college graduation for May-August.  We just want a summer "break" before starting our jobs.  I was wondering if you could tell me if there are any good sublets in this area or Rum Point or the east end.  We are looking for 1BR or 2BR. Thanks!

Answer
There are several condos in the Cayman Kai area which may be suitable. Availability for long term rental varies, and many are never listed with an agent or advertised in the  newspaper.

Island Houses is a group of condos directly across from Rum Point. Others to check include The Gardens of the Kai, and The Pools at Cayman Kai. Some of those units are owner-occupied, but many are available for rental. Rental prices in this area will be higher than elsewhere in East End or North Side.

There are a few apartments in the Colliers area, just south of Morritt's Tortuga Club, which are available. These tend to be apartments built over a garage. Ocean Frontiers, a dive shop in East End, has some nice new condos that have been advertised for long term rent as well. Elsewhere in East End various vacation homes and condos are available for short and possibly long term rent. Again, not all are advertised, but check the online classified ads in the Cayman Net News.
