Cayman Islands/Cayman dress code

Question
Do men need to wear long pants (vs. shorts) to dinner??  We'll be traveling there shortly and need to know what to pack.

Answer
As always, it depends upon how formal the restaurant.  In most family style or casual restaurants it would not be an issue to wear casual or dress shorts. Athletic shorts such as basketball shorts are only appropriate for the most casual of restaurants.

In a fine dining establishment long pants and an appropriate shirt with a collar would be fine.  Jacket and tie are not really necessary in any Cayman restaurant.

There are plenty of options for dining. I would suggest bringing at least one outfit suitable for a nicer night out.
