Drew...a year ago last March you informed someone there were 2 movie theaters and a multi-plex being built in the Caymans....I'll be renting a home near Rum Point and was wondering if any of those theaters were near that end of the island and if not, where....?   ...  Thanks ever-so

Indeed the new Hollywood Theater multiplex is now open at Camana Bay. The old Marquee theater is still in operation on Lawrence Boulevard. They are quite close to each other, but neither are close to Rum Point.

By road, it is a 45-50 minute commute from the Rum Point area to the movie theaters.

The Cayman Islands Government Lands and Survey Department has an online street atlas.  The overview of the island of Grand Cayman can be seen here ( http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky/imagemapfiles/gcindex.htm )

On that view, Rum Point is in box 120 on the north side of the island. The Marquee Theater is in box 23 on the west side of the island. Hollywood Theater at Camana Bay is nearby in box 21, though the map is not yet updated to show its precise location.

The Camana Bay development has a website with an aerial photo that includes both Camana Bay and Rum Point. It is the first photo in this slideshow ( http://www.camanabay.com/gall-aerial-flash.php ) Camana Bay is near the center of the screen just in front of the horizontally oriented canal. Rum Point is in the distance across North Sound at the far top left of the screen.
