Cayman Islands/driver's license

Question
Hi there,
I am a new resident on Island & I am wondering about how to obtain a
driver's license.  I have moved here from canada & I have an expired
driver's license from ontario, & I have not driven since.  I moved out to
BC & a car was not needed, & I did not need to drive but now I am
wondering about obtaining a new license & to drive again.  What do I
have to do to obtain a Cayman driver's license??
Thank you, elizabeth.

Normally, all you need to do is go to the Central Police Station with your Canadian Driving License (plus some passport-sized photos). They should then be able to issue a Caymanian License. Fee last time I checked was CI$85.  For more info see http://www.newresident.ky/page_id_9.html

However, as your license has expired, I'm not sure if they will accept this.  They may make you take a Cayman driving test, etc.  May be less hassle to try to get your Canadian license renewed and then apply at the Police Station.

Good luck!
