The first thing you need to do is seek a job. You cannot apply for a work visa before you have a job offered to you.  

Cayman has many restaurants and hotels with many opportunities for kitchen staff. You should focus your efforts on contacting those locations where your training and experience would be of most benefit. You should emphasize any formal training you may have completed. You can look through the Cayman Islands telephone directory online at www.caymanislandsyp.com to seek suitable business to apply to.

All jobs must be advertised locally. Normally this is done in the local newspapers the Cayman Net News or the Caymanian Compass. The Friday editions have the most job listings.

Employers must give priority to qualified applicants with Cayman citizenship. Still there are many more jobs available than there are qualified Caymanians.

Most businesses regularly receive unsolicited CVs and do keep those most qualified on file. You should periodically recontact any businesses to express continued interest.

Once a business offers you a job, the business will apply for the work visa for you. You will need to take a medical exam and provide a police background clearance.
