Question
Hi,
I have a question..I am arriving to GC on the 26.10. My work permit was approved, but I didnt get anything (my employer emailed me that it was). Do I need a copy/original of the work permit with me at the airport entering GC??
Please help.

Answer
If you would normally require a tourist visa to enter the Cayman Islands, you should request your employer to fax to you a copy of the letter from Immigration which granted your work permit. You can then show that letter to the airline personnel to allow you to board your flight to Cayman. Otherwise you do not need anything.

You provided your passport details at the time you applied for your job. As a part of the work permit application the Immigration Department has set up a file and entered your details in their computer system. Your work permit will be visible to the Immigration Officer upon scanning your passport. You do not need to show a copy or original of the letter of grant.

If persons from your country are not native English speakers, you will be required to take a short English language proficiency test at this time.

Assuming there are no further requirements to be fulfilled, the Immigration Office at the airport may stamp the work permit in your passport. Sometimes they refer you to get the stamp at the main Immigration Office at a later time.

You must travel on the passport which you used when applying for your job. Some people have dual nationality and more than one passport.

One final thing...  since you have a work permit approved, you can use the residents line at Cayman Immigration.
