Question
Dear John.

My girlfriend and i, we are looking for a new step in our lifes and Caymans is our choice. Started about two weeks ago applying to Hotels, Bars and Restaurants, as we are professionals in hospitality business. I'm a Bartender and she is a Assistant Maitre D'Hotel. We didn't had no replies yet and i came up with the idea of going and applying directly. Is it the best? Can we do it? How much time can we stay as a tourist? Do we have to come back to our country when we find a job? I think you can get the idea of all the questions i want to make you. Thank you very much John.

Answer
Hi Donovan - sorry for a late reply, we had a long weekend here in the states for Thanksgiving holiday.  As for applying for jobs, it may in fact be the best to go in person.  You have I believe up to 90 days before you need a visa in the islands, but double check with your consulate.  There are tons of places to find work there, and if you do get hired, you'll need to work through the Cayman government to get a work visa.  Then I believe you need to go back to your home country for 30 days every year if you don't get awarded a permanent work visa.  Best to you!
