Cayman Islands/WORK VISA FOR CAYMAN ISLAND

Question
Hi Drew, Im from Philippines.I just want to ask how long will it take to process a visa in Cayman Island (Work Permit)?

Answer
Most businesses are covered by the requirements of the Business Staffing Plan Board (BSPB). These businesses have a larger number of expatriate workers. Permit applications made through the BSPB are usually processed within about two weeks after all paperwork is submitted. Temporary permits may be faster - sometimes as little as two or three days.

If, however, a Caymanian has applied for the job but not been hired then the permit must be decided upon by the full Work Permit Board. This may take several months in the worst case scenario.

Smaller businesses with fewer employees must have all permit applications heard by the full Work Permit Board. Typical applications could be processed anywhere from three weeks to three months.

Most grants of work permits are non-controversial and processed as routine matters. Lengthy delays are uncommon. Most businesses are familiar with the process and will not submit applications which are likely to be delayed for a lengthy period of time.
