Question
I am a 24 year old Jamaican, who just completed a bsc. in Biology & Chemistry with education.I have applied by mail to a number of schools in Cayman,Hospitals Pharmacy and Doctors offices. What are my chances of finding a job and what pay should I expect?

Answer
Rochelle
I would think that your chances are low.  Before a job can be advertised to an expat, the firm has to prove that there is no Caymanian that they could appoint to the post. Therefore, if you are looking at an entry job, then you would be in direct competition to Caymanian graduates, and under the employment law they would get the post.

I can only suggest that you consider trying again once you have some experience in yoiur industry, but then you would be in competition with all other expats.

If you keep an eye on the job adverts in Cayman Net News (http://www.caymannetnews.com), you may see an advert that would show salary ranges.
