Cayman Islands/Finding a job

Question
Hello  Robert,
I recently visited Grand Cayman and fell in love with the
island and wish to re-locate there.  I am a Trinidadian with
a MSc in Management Studies; BSc in Industrial Management,
Certificate in Dental Assisting.  I lecture Part-time at the
UWI Open Campus and Tutor Part-time with UWI.  I work in
administration at the UWI as well (full time).  My areas of
interest in searching for a job in Grand Cayman are teaching
at High School Level or lecturing at tertiary level.  I
would also be interested in administrative and secretarial
work.  The task is finding a job!  Please help!
Thank you.

Caman is suffering badly in the recession.  It relies heavily on the financial sector and touris,, both of which have suffered in the last few years.
Before a job can be offered to an expat, the employer has to prove that there isn't a Caymanian that can fill the position.  The normal way of doing this is be advertising in the local press.  Up to recently, one of the nespapers (Cayman Net News) used to be available on-line, but their website is currently under construction (http://caymannetnews.com.ky/)

I think your have several options:
1) take out a subscription to the other local paper (Cayman Compass - http://www.compasscayman.com/),
2) check some of the online classifieds sites (eg http://www.buysell.ky http://www.ecaytrade.com/)
3) keep an eye on the Cayman Islands Government recruitment website at http://www.recruitment.gov.ky/
4) Contact some of the employment agencies on the island (see my list at http://www.gotocayman.com/index.php?title=DirectoryE#Employment_agencies).  This includes links to some websites (you would need to register) that post all of the job adverts that appear in the local press.
5) Contact some of the colleges/schools.  Use the Cayman Yellow Pages (http://caymanislandsyp.com/) or my listing at http://www.gotocayman.com/index.php?title=DirectoryS#Schools.2C_colleges_and_uni...

Good luck!
