Cayman Islands/Cayman

Question
My 19 yr old daughter and I will be spending the day in Grand Cayman (via cruise ship)in July.  I am reading conflicting info regarding the beaches.  We would like a nice, clean beach area with chairs and umbrellas accessible, as well as a beach bar.  We are still contemplating stingray city.   We will want to shop a little as well.  Any suggestions on how to spend our few hours would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Stacey - boy, there's so much to choose from on Cayman, and so little time to do anything.  If you've never done stingray city, that's a great highlight.  Many options as far as tour companies go.  If you want to just beach it, head to 7 mile beach via taxi or bus, about 5 minutes away from town, and get dropped off at Royal Palms. There are chairs for rent and a beach bar bar there.  You could also do public beach about 7-8 minutes further down on West Bay road.  There are places to rent chairs and bar there too (I believe).   Shopping is wonderful in G-town, so save some time before you head back to the ship.  Let me know if you have any more specific questions, I'd be happy to help answer.

Peace

John
