ANSWER: Lyndon
I hope your partner is Tenille, as I have replied to someone with exactly the same background.
Cayman is very puritanical when it comes to legislation. Dependents on a work permit can only be direct famils, so at the moment you couldn't be listed as a dependent as you aren't married. She would (and should) have declared your son as a dependent on her work permit application.
Whilst there is a young offenders institute on the island, (see
http://www.kcl.ac.uk/depsta/law/research/icps/worldbrief/wpb_country.php?country), but I don't think I have ever seen any jobs advertised to work there (see
http://www.pie.gov.ky/portal/page?_pageid=1795,3509391&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTA). However, there is a job description for a post there at
http://www.radiocayman.gov.ky/pls/portal30/docs/FOLDER/PERSONNEL/RECRUITMENT/JOB
Good luck!
Robert

QUESTION: hi there and thank you for your swift reply, and use of English vocab I've never heard of:-). yes you are correct Tenille is my partner and has been stressing over jobs for myself same as i have i appreciate the info you sent, but not 100% if that was a job offer or just template that would suite my background as i have worked in a secure environment before and posses more than adequate skills to carry out that job, if you got any info on how to go about applying for such work i would appreciate it, or would it be easier if i went in there direct with my resume when we get to the island?
yours sincerely
AnswerThe lack of a spell-checker on here doesn't help
I included the job description as I found it when trying to find information for you on Eagle House - the rehabilitation centre. I am not aware that they are recruiting at the moment.
Certainly would be worth approaching them when you are on-island.
Good luck!
Robert
